Why did Christians consider Apocryphal books as historical books rather than part of Bible Canon?

Why did Christians consider Apocryphal books as historical books rather than part of Bible Canon?

Answer:
It is because, you will never see in the New Testament any quote that was taken from Apocryphal books. Unlike the Old Testament, numerous quotations where taken from the Old Testament by New Testament writers.

Aside from this, Apocryphal books contain ideas that are directly in contradictions with both the NT and the OT like suicide and prayer for the dead.

Admittedly however, Apocryphal books are indeed a good source of history that concerns Jewish life.
